Orfit Crystal NS (Non-Stick) is the first transparent, low-temperature thermoplastic material designed to be used for the creation of braces, splints and orthoses. The transparent material is revolutionary, allowing doctors and clinicians to monitor wounds, progress on healing, sensitive skin and scar tissue without having to remove any support devices and potentially disturb the healing. The Crystal NS material is ideal for creating a soft and comfortable support for a painful joint. This flexible and lightweight material offers limited support without fully immobilizing the patient. So versatile, as each large sheet is molded to a customized fit on the patient. Simply heat up the material, and in about 5 minutes, it?s ready to be shaped and molded to the treatment area. The non-stick coating ensures patient skin remains unaffected. As the material cools, trim, shape and reinforce as needed. The transparency allows for observation of the anatomy during fitting and makes it easy for clinicians to detect pressure points. This is an individual sheet measuring 18" x 24" x 1/8". Unique non-stick properties allow for molding directly over bandages and cotton linings in post-surgical conditions. Hook and loop tape can be used to make sure the patient can easily put the orthosis on and off whenever desired or necessary. Flexible orthoses can help remind patients to avoid extreme positioning without completely immobilizing their extremity. Ideal for burn treatment when Crystal NS is used as an interface between burned skin and a hard-shell pressure mask. Lightweight and flexible enough to be worn during sports and other activities.
